![]() Hazardous WastesHazardous Wastes are defined as any waste that has been classified in the European Waste Catalogue (produced by the Environment Agency).Typical hazardous wastes produced by commercial industry would be Oily filter wastes, Oily absorbents (oily spillages/rags), fluorescent tubing, batteries, filters, paint waste and more commonly, oil and water waste. What are your obligations? Are you registered to dispose of it? Businesses have a Duty of Care to ensure they do not dispose hazardous waste items in their general refuse, recycling, clinical or bulky waste collections. If your business produces 500kgs or more of hazardous waste each year you must register with the Environment Agency. To register visit Environment Agency or one of our qualified team can assist you Our co-ordinator will assist you in registering with the environment Agency if you have not already done so, identifying and categorising your waste streams, segregating at source, optimising your disposal routes through our transport networks and safe legal transit providing a full audit trail in line with Hazardous Waste Obligations. |
