WEEE waste is a description given to any electrical item that has been disposed of. WEEE stands for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, it contains a wide variety of materials including plastics and metals. In January 2007 a Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE ) Directive was introduced into UK law. These regulations prevent commercial electrical and electronic equipment going to landfill; it forces companies to recycle their WEEE waste.
